2003 Largest Avocado by Weight

Seven “Largest Avocado’s by Weight” were entered this year.  The entrants of the contest are always gracious enough to donate their entries to the Largest Avocado Auction, to benefit our local FFA.  The Righetti’s also donated a bag full of 10 different varieties of avocados and the Righetti’s and the Granaroli’s gave additional “large” avocados to include in the auction.  This year proceeds totaled $147.50, with a very generous record $50.00 paid for the largest avocado auctioned.

1st Place - record size 3# 6 ¼ oz avocado was entered by Dave Righetti of San Luis Obispo.

2nd Place - weighed in at 3# 3 1/4 oz, entered by Angelo Granaroli of Carpinteria

3rd Place - 2# 15 oz entered by Tami Righetti of San Luis Obispo.
